It’s great to see the buzz around VSTS 2010 already starting to take place. Just last week John Bristowe and I were at DevTeach in Vancouver where we ran the first ever VSTS 2010 Beta 1 InstallFest to a packed room of brave souls armed with their laptops. It was impressive to see that we actually didn’t have any casualties;-) In fact, the installation itself took approximately 20 minutes and we had a 100% installation success rate with all the attendees! The event was also recorded and will soon be up on Dot-NET Rocks TV. You can also follow some of the activity that was captured through Twitter and Flickr:
So to continue educating developers on VSTS 2010 and the new capabilities in the product, we are running a special webcast on Tuesday June 16th presented by Adam Gallant that will preview the new functionality provided in the tools and the core.NET framework 4.0.
There is a vast amount of new functionality present in the Beta 1 release, so much so that it would be impossible to cover all of the new functionality in a single session. However, we’re going to highlight and demonstrate some of what we think is the most exciting new capabilities for project teams using Visual Studio Team System, including:
- Quality Assurance tooling using Visual Studio Test Essentials
- New Tester functionality with Coded UI tests
- Historical Debugging capabilities
- Architecture Tooling, including UML support and the Architecture Explorer
- Workflow-based build server capabilities
- Hierarchical Work Items
Come join us for this exciting look at some of the new capabilities in Visual Studio Team System 2010!.
