EnergizeIT Academic Event and User Group Connection (Calgary)

Earlier today, Rodney Buike, Qixing Zheng, and I visited SAIT Polytechnic and the user group community in Calgary as part of EnergizeIT.

The academic event at SAIT Polytechnic was attended by students and faculty wanting to hear about the ICT industry and learn a little about technologies like Windows 7 and Windows Azure. We had a lot of great questions and we able to share some information about our programs. (Check out https://students.energizeit.ca/ for more information!)

In the evening, we met with members of the user group community in Calgary at Cardel Theatre. (A great venue, just a bit off the beaten path.) We had about 75 folks show up to hear us talk a little about technologies like application compatibility in Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, DirectAccess, and BranchCache. Here, we had a lot of questions about BranchCache. I, being the developer, played the role of Oprah and passed the mic around for questions about its implementation.

Overall, it was a very good day. Tomorrow brings our EnergizeIT event (from the Client to the Cloud). We'll see you there!
