Edmonton Speaker Idol - A Call For Speakers!

The folks at the Edmonton .NET Users Group are looking to do something different for this month's meeting. Earlier today, I received the following e-mail:

As you may know, our March meeting is going to be done in a different style than we normally use. What we're planning is a set of 5 to 6 short presentations (10 minutes each) on topics that the speakers have chosen. What we need are speakers.

Is it for you? Of course it is! Unlike standard user group or code camp presentations, you don't have to create up to two hours of material. Trust us when we say that 10 minutes of material is not very much. This is your opportunity to work on your public speaking, talk about something that you're passionate about, and possibly win some prizes. Did we not mention the prizes? At the end of the night we're going to give away prizes to the speakers based on audience vote. (Prizes are still being determined, but they will *not* include having to spend time with Justice).

If you're interested in participating or have any questions, send an email to us at info@edmug.net . Include in it, your name and one or more topic ideas that you're considering. We won't hold you to any of the topics, but we also want to make sure that we don't end up with six presentations on the nuances of bit shifting.

Thanks, and see you at the end of March.

Sounds like a fun event! If you're in the Edmonton area and are looking for a speaking gig, let the folks at the Edmonton .NET Users Group know!
