Last year I was involved in several Office “12” projects as part of some early adopters, so I became familiar with the new Office System wave, but there are so much to read and learn 🙂
Although MSDN/Technet add new MOSS/WSS content each month, I found little online documentation for a well known command-line tool: Stsadm.
There are new features in dev scope (like custom commands), but I wanted to focus on IT reference.
A first step is to get the v2.0 help, located at: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/winsharepointadmin/HA011608431033.aspx or http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/wss/2/all/adminguide/en-us/stsk01.mspx?mfr=true
This topic lists and explains the operations you can perform with Stsadm.exe.
Note To use stsadm.exe, you must be a member of the local Administrators group for the server computer.
You can also get a list of the command-line operations by typing stsadm.exe -help on the command line. Syntax help for specific operations is available by typing stsadm.exe -help <operation name>.
So If you want to check for the operations and their syntax you can check:
