Check Your Head (Interview and Open Source RDL)

I'm famous. 🙂 OK, not really. But it was a fun interview and has a cute picture of my daughter.

On another topic, if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then having an open source version of your product must be close on the list. Looks like there is a new company building an open source implementation of Report Definition Language (RDL). The fact that someone is implementing an open source version of RDL validates our approach to provide an open, fully documented format that doesn't lock customers in to a specific report engine implementation. I still think that we provide lots of value with our full product, but I welcome others to the market.

Brian, I agree completely. SoftArtisans is another company I know of that extended RDL and leveraged the RS extensibility APIs.
