OooooooData

The past couple of days have been big for OData as we saw the RTW release of not one but TWO OData stacks.

Congratulations are in order to the Web API team, who just released a flexible open source stack that supports OData using the same underlying libraries as WCF Data Services. You can read their getting started guide here.

As if that weren’t enough, WCF Data Services just RTW’d 5.3.0. This new release has more support for instance annotations, “overloaded” actions, the ability to modify the request URL before processing the request and more bug fixes. These features enable important functionality in Azure, PowerShell and other partner stacks. You can get more detail about the features on the WCF Data Services team blog.

To wrap up all this OData goodness, the OData Service for Team Foundation Server v2.2.0 Beta was released. Brian Keller has a blog post on what this latest release encompasses and how to get it so be sure to check it out.
