I posted the latest list of Project and Project Server – 2010, 2013 and 2016 updates over on the Project Support blog – https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/projectsupport/2016/02/10/project-server-2010-2013-and-2016-february-2016-pu-announcement/. I updated the fix lists too.
A couple of things to note:
- The SharePoint updates have some security stuff in them – so these will be coming out via Microsoft Update too – you don’t still allow your servers to auto update do you? Better check and run the configuration wizard if you got the SharePoint updates!
- We often get asked when a customer will see a specific client fix if they are running Project Pro for Office 365 – and the stock answer is ‘It depends’. What it depends on can be found here – Office 365 client update branch releases – https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/Office/mt465751 and here – Overview of update branches for Office 365 ProPlus – https://technet.microsoft.com/library/mt455210.aspx so check which release branch you are on – and the blog post at https://blogs.office.com/2016/02/09/deferred-channel-build-now-available-for-the-office-365-client-apps/ gives a few details of some recent renaming. First Release for Deferred Channel is my favourite name – “I want to see it first – but only the stuff that has been out for a while…”
More Office 365 news – February is also the month when we will be pushing out the 2016 version of the Office and Project apps unless you do local installs – see Change management for Office 365 clients for more information.
