As we approach release (see Christophe’s blog for the recent announcement) I am really impressed by the quantity and quality of documentation we have already put out for this release. The latest posting is a refresh to the Project 2010 SDK with some great updates to the developing Project Server workflows section (great work Jim!). It can be found at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms512767(office.14).aspx This pre-release version is only available online – the usual downloadable version will be available after release. The current downloadable version at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=46007f25-b44e-4aa6-80ff-9c0e75835ad9&displaylang=en is the Beta release from November that does not contain the latest updates.
Workflow is a very powerful new feature for 2010, and gives capabilities far greater than the very simple workflow we delivered with 2007 in conjunction with MOSS. Take a look and give some thought to how this can help with managing the lifecycles of your various project types.
*** Update *** I should also point out that a refresh of the SharePoint 2010 SDK has also been published this week – http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee557253(office.14).aspxhttp://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee557253(office.14).aspx.
