TechEd presentation on Office Open XML available for download

For those of you who weren't able to attend my talk at TechEd 2006 on the file formats, you can actually view it online here:

The quality of the video isn't great, but it actually does a decent job capturing the demos. The background for the PPT slides doesn't come through too clearly though (but it's not really that big of a deal). You'll also have to deal with my mono-tone presentation style, but hopefully the content helps where I fall short. 🙂

It looks like you need to provide a bit of information before you can download the video which is pretty lame, but for now I haven't found a way around that. Maybe I'll just take the video and have them post it up on site so that you don't have to go through the extra hassle.

Thanks for the link, but does it have to be hosted by Microsoft events? They seem pretty determined that this is going to be something interactive, when all I wanted was to get the video. Live streaming is certainly possible without Live Meeting. (Also, I don’t know why they wanted a company name; I put in "Unaffiliated, Inc.")

Yeah, I’m not sure why they need all those steps when in the end it’s just a media file. That’s why I was hoping to get it up on OpenXMLDeveloper or something like that…

    Hello Brian,

Your presentation was very instructive. Thanks.

I was also looking forward to see the presentation made by Tristan Davis during the Tech Ed. I do not see his talk in the list of recorded sessions. Do you know if it will be made available in the future ?

Thanks, and contratulations for your excellent blog.

Hi Cyril, it looks like the only presentations that are currently available were the ones that were part of a webcast. I’d not sure if Tristan’s talk will be made available or not.

In the meantime though, you can see a talk he gave on the same content from last fall:
