Microsoft Services Organisation offers IT Consultancy and Support at every stage of the IT Life Cycle. Together our partners, Consultants and support specialists offer expert help with formulating strategy, quantifying business benefits, identifying opportunities and implementing solutions that best meet customer requirements.

You will be responsible for assisting customers in the architecture, design and implementation of solutions based on Microsoft products and technologies, often in complex technical or political environments where limited/no assistance may be available. There is also the need for you to contribute to effectiveness of the entire Microsoft UK Technical Community through the creation of white-papers and solutions demonstrators. Your passion to be technically competent will drive you to present a compelling image of Microsoft and its products.

Team/Department Mission

To deliver quality consulting services and transfer knowledge to customers and partners that accelerate the adoption and deployment of Microsoft products and technologies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the most diverse and complex scope of consulting engagements.

  • Act as technical or business resource for broad and complex issues, and often assigned to strategic accounts.

  • Provide leadership in technical or process planning and guidance to customers and other consultants.

  • Work with management when necessary to resolve sensitive account issues.

  • Efficiently and creatively perform complex consulting engagements on a frequent basis.

  • Strategically analyse the risks, benefits, and opportunities of various solutions as needed.

  • Proactively works with the engagement team and partners and pursues on-sell opportunities for self and others.

  • Manage customer incidents very effectively.

  • Perform Technical Troubleshooting to a high level.

  • Design customer solutions that effectively leverage MS business, products, programmes and services within a number of complex customer environments.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

1) Essential Experience

  • Experience in systems development and consulting including enterprise architecture.
  • 4-6 years of Consulting / Services experience

· Understanding of what is meant by collaboration and aggregation of data

· Expert practitioner on SharePoint Portal Server

· Knowledge of competitive product offerings

· Demonstration of more than simple product knowledge – must know how to architect and build an application

· Ability to construe a customer’s “plan” quickly

  • Enterprise customer experience.

2) Technical / Functional Skills

  • ASP.NET

  • CMS

  • A .NET programming language (VB.NET or C#)

  • Portals (i.e, an understanding of what a portal is all about)

  • Office Development

  • Groove would be a bonus

4) Qualifications

  • BA/BSc degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Generally one trip to the USA per year
