Windows Azure クラウドサービス、古いバージョンの Guest OS がサポート終了

Windows Azure クラウドサービス (ホステッドサービス) で古いバージョンの Guest OS が 2012 年 10 月にサポート終了となります。

Windows Server 2008 R2 対応 Guest OS 2.9 (Release 201112-02) および Windows Azure Guest OS 1.17 (Release 201112-02) より古いバージョンが利用できなくなります。

Windows Azure 仮想マシン、VM ロールのご利用には影響ありません。また、Guest OS を最新バージョンに自動アップデートする設定にされている場合、および 上記より新しいバージョンをご利用の場合は変更はありません。

2012 年 10 月 3 日以降、対象となる古いバージョンの Guest OS は Windows Azure ポータルから選択できなくなります。また、対象の古いバージョンを serviceconfigration.cscfg に指定して利用することもできなくなります。なお、現在稼働中のクラウドサービスで対象の Guest OS を利用している場合は、自動的に最新バージョンの Guest OS にアップデートされます。

Guest OS を最新バージョンに自動アップデートする設定は、Visual Studio または Windows Azure ポータルで確認できます。

Visual Studio では、該当する Windows Azure プロジェクトの ServiceConfigration.Cloud.cscfg を確認します。osVersion="*" となっていれば 自動アップデートされます。ちなみに osFamily="1" が Guest OS 1.x (Windows Server 2008 SP2 互換)、osFamily="2" は Guest OS 2.x(Windows Server 2008 R2 互換) です。

Windows Azure ポータルでは、該当する クラウドサービスを選択し、上部ツールバーの [CONFIGURE] をクリックします。[operationsystem] の欄に OS Family とバージョンが表示されます。自動アップデートは、OS VERSION を "Automatic" に設定します。
