In this section we discuss the various performance metrics that you need to know before attempting to measure the performance of a BizTalk Solution. In later sections we will discuss specific performance counters and which counters to watch when looking for specific types of bottlenecks, so we do not do that here. Instead this section provides pointers to educate the reader regarding performance metrics for BizTalk Server 2006 and SQL Server 2005.
