Below is a media release from THE HON BRUCE BILLSON MP, Minister for Small Business, Federal Member for Dunkley that was released yesterday about a Government program that provides small business advisory services to small businesses and startups.
Applications open soon for $18 million Australian Small Business Advisory Services programme
A new funding round will soon open to improve the accessibly, volume and quality of low cost business advisory services available to small businesses and family enterprises as part of the $18 million Australian Small Business Advisory Services (ASBAS) programme.
The Abbott Government is committed to helping established not-for-profit small business advisory service providers to deliver low cost advice and information services to new and established small businesses, family enterprises and start-ups.
We know small businesses and family enterprises often have limited time, resources and financial capacity to find and obtain accurate information to help grow their business.
The ASBAS program aims to meet the needs of small businesses and family enterprises with a range of services and programs delivered through eligible not-for-profit organisations including Chambers of Commerce, Business Enterprise Centres and Industry Associations who provide high quality advice at a minimal cost.
The Small Business Advisory Services, now the refocused ASBAS programme, has provided support and assistance to more 230,000 businesses.
The Abbott Government recognises the importance of small business and family enterprises to the economy and to employment, growth and innovation, and up to $6 million will be provided each year for the next three years to ensure small businesses can continue to receive these valuable services.
Individual grants of up to $200,000 per year are available to successful applicants for three years.
This funding round will deliver on the theme of ‘Business Solutions’ and incorporate five main streams of assistance:
Funding avenues and financial analysis
Building your business
Making the most of your talent and team
Digital engagement implementation
Applications open on Wednesday 15 October 2014 with new services expected to start in February 2015. Further
