New Year – New Role for Me

Microsoft’s fiscal year begins in July. A such July is the time for any changes in roles and responsibilities as well as planning for the coming year.

Those of you who know me know that I have been an Architect Evangelist working in Microsoft’s Developer and Platform Evangelism group focusing particularly on evangelizing new and emerging technologies (like Windows Azure) to current and potential Microsoft customers primarily in the New York Metropolitan area (New York, New Jersey and Southern Connecticut).

In Fiscal Year 11 (now) my role is changing. From here on my focus going forward will be on working with Independent Software Vendors and not with enterprise customers.

Also for those of you who know me you know that I have been for the past year the Azure Editor of the Customer Team’s Innovation Showcase team blog. The Customer Team uses that blog to highlight an amplify other worthwhile blog posts in areas such as Windows 7, Internet Explorer, Microsoft web technologies and (of course) Windows Azure.

With this change I will be leaving that side job to someone else on our Customer team. Not to worry though, my new group will have a similar site shortly. Until then I will shift my amplification efforts to this blog. So stay tuned.
