VS2005 Web Application Projects RC released

It is with great pleasure that I can announce availability of the release candidate of the Web Application Project add-in for Visual Studio 2005.  This has been a remarkable journey, driven by your feedback.  This release co-incides with a generally available patch (GDR) for VS2005 that makes WAP even more powerful.  Complete details on installing the RC of WAP available here and of course ScottGu did an amazing blog post a few minutes ago with an updated tutorial and information on how it works.

For a detailed overview of Web Application Projects see this whitepaper by Omar Khan and Michael Bundschuh.

  1. I have just started watching and evaluating .Net 2005 web development applications and I am very excited with what I have seen thus far.  I am thinking of switching my development environment so I will be visiting more often to learn more.

This April release of WAP requires that you install the GDR (patch) for VS05 first. Did you do that — it can be found at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=63636

If you did this and still have this error, please post this question to the forums and a team member will work with you to resolve it. http://forums.asp.net/1019/showforum.aspx

Basically nothing noteworthy happening right now, but eh. Today was a complete loss. I haven’t been up to much recently. I’ve pretty much been doing nothing worth mentioning.
