“RootFolder” parameter is case-sensitive

If you are using script or software to generate SharePoint 2010 links, you might encounter the following issue.

SharePoint 2010 has a parameter called “RootFolder” that will appear in your URL if you have folders in your list/library.  This parameter is case-sensitive (capital “R” and “F”).  If you generate a link that uses this parameter and you do not get the case correct, the context (dropdown) menu associated with your list/library content items will throw the following error.

This item is no longer available.  It may have been deleted by another user.  Click ‘OK’ to refresh the page.

Hopefully this post saves you some time banging your head against the wall.
