Device Emulator 1.0 Standalone is now available for download

If you do not have Visual Studio 2005 installed, but have Device Emulator OS images you want to try, you can now do so using the same emulator that ships with Visual Studio 2005.

Head to https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C62D54A5-183A-4A1E-A7E2-CC500ED1F19A&displaylang=en to download the V1 DeviceEmulator binaries - they are just 867k.

You'll find that the vs_emulator.exe embedded inside the download is identical to the one on the Visual Studio CD/DVD, in the wcu\arm subdirectory.
