Azure Security Center coming to Azure Government

Sarah Fender, Azure Security Engineering

While cyber threats affect every organization and every individual, governments face unique challenges. Today, we are announcing Azure Security Center, which provides unified security management and advanced threat protection for hybrid cloud workloads, will be coming to Azure Government. From simplified management to new ways to block and detect threats, Security Center continues to innovate to help solve today’s security challenges.

Security Center will help Azure Government customers:

  • Monitor security across cloud and on-premises workloads
  • Apply policy to ensure compliance with security standards
  • Find and fix vulnerabilities before they can be exploited
  • Block malicious activity by applying adaptive application and network access controls
  • Leverage advanced analytics and threat intelligence to detect attacks
  • Simplify investigation for rapid threat response

Today, we are happy to announce the general availability of new Security & Audit capabilities in Azure Government. The Security & Audit solution within Azure Log Analytics features new threat detections, powered by Security Center analytics and Microsoft global threat intelligence, to identify inbound attacks, malicious activity that could indicate a breach, and attempts to exfiltrate data or mount additional attacks.

You can also benefit from increased visibility into the security of your virtual machines. Identify issues, like OS misconfigurations or insufficient malware protection, before they can be exploited by attackers. View built-in notable security events or create your own watchlist. Monitor access logs for unusual patterns and risky user accounts.

Additional features, will be added in early 2018 when Azure Security Center is available in Azure Government.
