Azure Content Spotlight – Cloud Service Map for AWS and Azure

Welcome to another Azure Content Spotlight! These articles are used to highlight items in Azure that could be more visible to the Azure community.

A significant challenge many organizations face is the initial and sometimes on-going choices as to which cloud service provider best fits their particularly requirements.  The benefit to having excellent services provided by AWS and Azure is the ability to mix and match services as appropriate.  As these choices have a significant effort and cost associated with them, it is important to make the best decision possible based on the ability to compare and contrast the cloud service providers.  the Cloud Service Map for AWS and Azure goes a long way to providing the necessary comparison of the services provided by the two service providers.

Broken into 13 sections, the guide is provided in an easy to compare layout.  For example, when viewing the comparison of developer tools, you can quickly get an understanding of how the cloud providers support different services.  This is then a great jumping off point to gather additional information in order to contrast the services.

The following is an image of the interactive menu provided to quickly navigate through the document and shows the different sections:

Thanks to the Azure team for putting this together!

Cheers!

  1. Very good. I also recommend Azure for AWS professionals: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/architecture/aws-professional/

That includes an AWS to Azure service comparison: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/architecture/aws-professional/services

The ebook seems to be a version of that. And this is an interesting item on the list:

    Microservice-based applications
    AWS: None
    Azure: Service Fabric
A compute service that orchestrates and manages the execution, lifetime, and resilience of complex, inter-related code components that can be either stateless or stateful.
