Azure Content Spotlight – Azure Log Analytics

Welcome to another Azure Content Spotlight! These articles are used to highlight items in Azure that could be more visible to the Azure community.AzureDev

Azure Log Analytics is a SaaS solution for collecting, storing and analyzing log data from from on-premises and cloud based Windows or Linux Servers.  It is part of the Operations Management Suite which helps visualize operations management across data centers.  As it is becoming more common for enterprise solutions to span across multiple data centers, having a centralized tool to combine and correlate logs becomes essential.

In Ladies and gentlemen, start your logging, Anurag Gupta shows how a migration from ELK to Azure Log Analytics lowered operation costs by more than ninety percent.  An interesting read as it shows how the consumer car industry leverages insight from the Halo 5 team!  Joseph Chan explains Halo 5: Guardians uses Log Analytics in Microsoft Azure for Operational Intelligence.

Powerful stuff and very compelling to use Azure Log Analytics if an enterprise infrastructure is mostly in Azure.

Cheers!

Haha! Very nice set of articles. I had just gotten done reading the ELK migration and saw this pop in my feed. 🙂 I am interested in Serilog/Seq, myself, and am hoping to utilize that in Azure. Haven’t found any resources just yet, but I am sure there are out there or are on the way. Nice work, once again Jeffrey!
