Cloud computing continues to grow.  Cloud providers report incredible growth including Microsoft reporting one third of revenue due to Azure.  The adoption of the cloud across enterprises is projected to increase rapidly in the future.  Here are two posts for thought:

In the article by James Staten, How to turn cloud economics to your advantage, he points out how many enterprises are not getting the most out of cloud platforms by taking advantage of the pay-per-use model.  By taking advantage of automated scaling, solutions can scale to fit computing demands.  He points out this is a shift from traditional capacity planning where the maximum load was considered to thinking instead of considering the minimum load with the capacity to scale.
