SQL Server Always On Not Synchronizing after installing cumulative updates

I wanted to make everyone aware that there is an Always On bug in SQL 2012 SP2 CU3 and CU4 and SQL 2014 CU5.   You can find the article and fix here:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3033492

If there are no other critical updates that you may need, it would be suggested to wait until the next round of cumulative updates to patch if you have Always On servers.   This is always the recommendation to not apply Cumulative Updates but to wait and install Service Packs when they are released.  For Dynamics AX 2012, SQL 2012 SP2 CU2 because of a needed SSIS fix for DMF.

Hi Rob, the following statement conflicts with pre-existing advice from Microsoft "This is always the recommendation to not apply Cumulative Updates but to wait and install Service Packs when they are released.".

Firstly we are always informed to stay in line with SQL CUs, obviously after testing this ourselves. This is pre-existing and recent advice working directly with Microsoft Dynamics AX Technical Architect.

Secondly Service Packs must only be loaded once Microsoft has approved them for example SQL 2012 SP2 was not approved by AX engineers until SQL 2012 CU2 was release. Again advice via AX Tech Architects as well as discovering ourselves that SQL 2012 SP2 was not compatible with DIXF when it was released.

Please clarify this with your colleagues and either appropriately correct the statement, or clarify if the advice has changed. After all it makes little sense for all AX teams to wait for Service Packs, which can be two years apart, instead of keeping up to date with the CUs which fix stability and security issues (albeit with proper regression testing)

Looking forward to your reply to avoid clients and other experts reading this statement out of context
