In this week’s ‘Road to WPC’ partner profile series, we take a closer look at MOQdigital who was named Australian Partner of the Year and finalist for the Internet of Things category. Over the past twelve months MOQ Digital has demonstrated customer innovation and expertise in Internet of Things (IoT), creating a solution that helps customers get business impact from their data.
Digital transformation is all about “making things easier” – for enterprises, employees and consumers.
Of course making things easier requires effort. A mathematician spends long hours in front of a chalkboard before uncovering an elegant mathematical proof to a complex challenge – the same could be said of developers of elegant solutions to complex enterprise challenges.
It’s what makes MOQdigital tick.
Established in 2015 from the merger of Technology Effect and Breeze, MOQdigital is a solutions business that works intimately with clients to assess the challenge they face, and then crafts with them a digital strategy and solution. Its intent is to catapult clients to the front of the digital curve, often leveraging cloud solutions for their inherent agility and scalability.
Nicki Page, MOQdigital CEO, explains clients often have to perform and transform at the same time; meeting current requirements but positioning themselves for a more digital future.
Transitioning to cloud based solutions streamlines that challenge, with clients able to work with MOQdigital to shift workloads into Office 365 and establish hybrid cloud solutions that allow the perform-transform balance to be achieved. Page says that infrastructure as a service solutions, such as Microsoft Azure, are in high demand as companies transition their businesses.
The shift to the cloud is also transforming MOQdigital’s own business model as it develops strong and predictable recurring revenue streams through the delivery of both managed services and commercialised IP solutions to digitally transform operations.
“We now offer integration from end to end; data, application, infrastructure. We can take all of our customers’ infrastructure devices, whatever they may be – including the internet of things (IoT) – and manipulate that data all the way through, to bring it to life through a digital dashboard or business intelligence tool,” says Page.
Recognition for its efforts came when Microsoft this year named MOQdigital the winner of its Australian Partner of the Year Award and finalist for the Internet of Things category.
It’s one of a record haul of seven Australian winners of the 2016 Worldwide Partner Awards, which celebrate Microsoft’s rich partner ecosystem. Winners this year were selected from 2,500 entries from 119 countries, and a further four Australian organisations were also finalists.
Like many other IT services and solutions businesses MOQdigital is transforming itself into less of a transaction, project based business, towards a more relationship focussed enterprise where it works with clients and technology partners on an ongoing basis.
“Even in a digital world face-to-face customer conversations to build trust is still critical. You’ve got to listen to your customers and understand what problem you’re solving for them. Start small to earn people’s trust and respect. The truth is there’s plenty of competition out there so you need to know what you’re famous for, have satisfied customers, and be a true partner every step of the way.”
The secret of success says Page is to; “Know where your differentiator is in the market and run hard at that. But also align yourself really well with Microsoft. It’s a challenging journey – you need all the help you can get. Microsoft has that help from a technology platform perspective, from a business model perspective, and like-minded people to work alongside through-out the journey.”
