Microsoft Dynamics AX – built for the cloud

Overnight we released further details about the newest release of our enterprise resource planning solution Microsoft Dynamics AX (previously known as “AX7”) including general availability in the first quarter of calendar year 2016.  A public preview will be available for both Microsoft Partners and customers in early December. Hear some feedback from other Microsoft Partners.

The official announcement and blog posts from Mike Ehrenberg,  and Christian Pedersen provide full details about this exciting new release including:

  • New user experience – looks and works like Microsoft Office with deep integration into Dynamics AX, Dynamics CRM and Office 365.  Near-real-time analytics powered by Azure Machine Learning, data visualisation with Power BI embedded within the application, fully browser-based, HTML5 client.
  • Enhanced implementation & management – enhanced capabilities of Azure-based service Microsoft Life Cycle Services (LCS) transforming the application lifecycle management of a Dynamics AX project.
  • Power of the cloud – on the Microsoft Azure platform this release brings the benefits of the cloud - simple signup, immediate provisioning, and built-in high availability and disaster recovery, elastic capacity to add resources but only pay for them when they are being used.
