Do you ever get the Sound of Music song “My Favourite Things” stuck in your head?

What a magical time of year this is Spring, full of possibilities and wonder. I am not sure what it is about Spring that makes me associate it with the Sound of Music and the song “My Favourite Things”, which seems to run on repeat in my head with a visual of my team mates dressed up as the von Trapp children.

With all that said and put aside, Spring is by far my most favourite time of the year. I am not sure how many of you reading my blog posts know me personally but I thought I would share with you why I do what I do and love seeing the Partners in Australia have a spring in their step and shine bright.

Helping others comes easily to me it gives me a buzz when people I help succeed. I would like to think it is a natural extension of who I am and one of my responsibilities to you our Partners. I have come to realise that most of the business relationships I have built with Partner organisations has come from me helping someone and for a short time being part of your team to solve the problem.

I have three principles that I use each and every day at Microsoft and I am going to share them with you so you know how I approach my job and think of you.

Principle 1: Finding Out What Is Important To You!

Whether that be raindrops on roses or Azure Certification. The number one rule for me when helping Partner organisations is to find out what’s actually critical for you to succeed. I spent a lot of time talking too many of you at the Australia Partner Conference early this month and the number ONE thing you told me you wanted was help getting your people certified so you could achieve one of the Gold Cloud Competencies. I am happy to share with you, that I heard your request loud and clear and starting NEXT WEEK I am kicking off a number of online Exam Preparation Courses:

Principle 2: Sharing The Right Resources!

Whether that be brown paper packages tied up with strings or training courses that provides you the time and space to work ON the business rather than IN the business, one of your favourite things. When it comes to resources, Microsoft creates you a massive amount of collateral and training to help you with your business. I am constantly looking at the resources that Microsoft creates and invests in to see how they can help you and share what I think will have the most impact on your business. Whether that be for a Partner organisation trying to work out how to increase their profitability in this Cloud First, Mobile First world. Or, maybe you have an idea for an application and want to make it a repeatable scalable solution, but just don’t know how to begin. The below training courses happen in October and can help you with both of these problems.

Principle 3: Keeping You Abreast Of Any Opportunity!

I think it is always important to keep an eye out for opportunities that you might like to know about. It could be an opportunity to present at the upcoming Australia Ignite in November, or help you drive more customers to your Pinpoint Profile or keep you up to date with all the Australian Training we have in market to help you stay current on the latest technology. Once I see an opportunity, I think about how you our partner could benefit from knowing about it. With that said Phil Goldie my manager and my team mates are always looking for opportunities for you our partner and as you are reading this blog post, this blog is where the entire team communicates these opportunities, so make sure you are subscribed to it to keep abreast of all opportunities.

Thank you for spend a little time with me today and now you know my most favourite thing HELPING YOU SUCCEED!

Sarah
