Turn your Gold (or Silver) Competency into a golden ticket

As Microsoft Australia’s premiere Partner event, Australia Partner Conference (APC) is an absolute must for all Partners looking to grow their business. Returning to the Gold Coast, 2015 combines the best of APCs gone past whilst adding a few surprises to deliver a truly unmissable experience.

You’ve heard all this before though, so how does it relate to alchemy? What if, through the marvels of modern day pseudo-science, your Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) Competency could materialise into a golden ticket (or tickets) to this glorious Gold Coast event? Read on to find out!

My organisation has a Silver or Gold Competency – am I eligible?

Good news! All Partners that have paid Competency fees in Australia since the conclusion of APC 2014 (September 5, 2014) are eligible for one or two pre-paid tickets.

  • Gold Competency Partners (two prepaid tickets)
    • If you attained or renewed your Competency(s) in Australia and have paid your fees since 05/09/14, you are eligible for two prepaid tickets to APC 2015
  • Silver Competency Partners (one prepaid ticket)
    • If you attained or renewed your Competency(s) in Australia and have paid your fees since 05/09/14, you are eligible for one prepaid tickets to APC 2015

Your Primary Program Contact can view your invoice history by signing in to the Partner Membership Centre, selecting the “Orders & Benefits” menu and clicking on “Review Program Purchases”.

My organisation has a Cloud Performance Competency and was not required to pay program fees – am I eligible?

The new Cloud Performance Competencies allow Partners to achieve Competency status free of charge. They are a fantastic way to gain access to the substantial “Core” Competency benefit entitlement (plus exclusive incremental benefits) at absolutely no cost. Unfortunately, unless program fees are paid we are unable to offer a pre-paid APC ticket entitlement – Partners in this situation are encouraged to purchase their tickets whilst still enjoying substantial savings over the standard Competency fees.

What next?

Australia Partner Conference is continually one of the highlights of my year, from the sneak peeks I’ve seen thus far, 2015 will be no different. As a forum to meet, network and share a drink (or two!) with some of the most inspiring business owners and BDMs in Australia – it’s second to none. When not delivering or attending sessions, I spend my time connecting with the best and brightest of the Microsoft Partner Community. Whether this will be your first APC or your twentieth, I hope to include you on that list!

1. Competency Partners

If you’re a Competency partner with an upcoming Anniversary Date, make sure you meet all Competency requirements and are able to renew (inc. fee payment) in time. Partners can renew up to 90 days prior to their Anniversary Date – I always recommend renewing early, leaving it to the last minute can lead to disappointment. See the Competency Checklist for tips on your renewal.

2. Non-Competency Partners

Attaining a Competency is a great way to accelerate the growth of your business – it’s also one of the most cost effective ways to attend APC. Learn more about Microsoft Competencies here. If Competency doesn’t make sense for your business model, I highly recommend purchasing tickets once available.
