Systems Management and Virtualization Competencies Are Merging

 

In May 2012, the Systems Management and Virtualization competencies will be merged to form a new competency called “Management and Virtualization.” This evolution reflects the continued convergence of management and virtualization workloads and helps prepare partners to deliver private cloud solutions.

Important Virtualization Competency Announcement: Retiring Exams

Microsoft Learning recently announced the retirement of exams that are currently eligible for achieving the Virtualization competency:

  • 70-403: TS: System Centre Virtual Machine Manager 2008, Configuring
  • 70-652: TS: Windows Server Virtualization, Configuring

 

The exams are being retired as they are both on older versions of Windows Server and System Centre. The exam that replaces these is 70-659: TS: Windows Server 2008 R2, Server Virtualization for which online exam prep is now available. MCPs who take the retiring exams before September 30, will still be able to use the credential requirement for the Virtualization competency until May 2012.
