To buy or not to buy…

So you want to buy some new Office software for your PC… but you’ve heard that Office 2010 will be releasing soon so you think you should wait? Well not to worry; now all Office 2007 products come with something called Tech Guarantee. This means if you purchase and activate Office 2007 between the 5th of March and 30th September you can upgrade your software to Office 2010 when it’s released. And what’s even better is if you upgrade by download it’s free!

So here is how it works:

Buy your copy of Office 2007 between 5th March and 30th September and activate the product and use it as normal. Then after Office 2010 is released go to www.office.com/techg  before 31st October and verify your eligibility online. If you are eligible you will be able to download Office 2010 at no additional cost. Or if you would prefer a DVD of Office 2010 you can purchase one for a small fee. To be eligible make sure you do the following:

  • Purchase of Office 2007 or a new PC with Office 2007 between 5th March 2010 and 30th September 2010.
  • Activate your Office 2007 software between 5th March 2010 and 30th September 2010.
  • Keep your Product Key and Product ID in a safe place.
  • Create a Windows Live ID, or use one you already have.
  • Redeem your Tech Guarantee at www.office.com/techg  before 31st October 2010 and start using Office 2010.
