Link to a preview of version 2.0 of Big Screen Headlines

I know I'm a little late posting about this, but better late than never.  Niall Ginsbourg has posted some information about an updated version of Big Screen Headlines that he has been working on recently.  This application is an RSS feed browser for Windows Vista Media Center.  You can check out Niall's post at https://mobilewares.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!78533A1A2E078194!597.entry.  It contains screenshots and descriptions of several key new features in Big Screen Headlines v2.  Here is a summary of some of the changes:

  • Revamped UI system, including an Xbox 360 dashboard-style 4-way main menu to allow quicker access to content
  • Enhanced article parsing and display
  • Enhanced parsing of RSS feeds, including new source extensions and display of new elements (thumbnails, comments, ratings, etc)
  • Enhanced viewing, filtering, sorting and grouping when viewing feeds and lists
  • Support for dynamic OPML 2.0 include statements
  • Direct access to the latest items from subscribed feed sources in the main menu
  • Easy to export feeds to an OPML file so the application can be used by extenders

I encourage you to check out the blog post, and also try out the beta when it is available (it sounds like the beta is imminent based on Niall's comments in the post).
