One of my personal favorite features of MCMS 2002 is the placeholder framework – the
ability to build your custom placeholder server controls. This is one of the most
powerful features because it enables you to allow your content contributors to manage
content that can live anywhere; you can style the content any how you want; you can
use the content any way you want and so on; all this by just implementing a few methods.
In the last few months, many partners and customers have actually built their own
custom placeholder controls and posted them up on http://www.gotdotnet.com in
the user samples section; just search for MCMS as the related product.
I’m actually doing a web cast next Tuesday (Sept. 16th) on this specific topic…
so if you aren’t familiar with how to create custom placeholder server controls, definitely
check out my webcast at http://www.microsoft.com/usa/webcasts/upcoming/2174.asp
