MS simplifies data-centric development in heterogeneous environments

The Beta 3 of the ADO.NET Entity Framework ,which expands upon the Data Platform pillar of the Application Platform, has been released today!

Key points:

· ADO.NET Entity Framework enables developers to more easily work with data-centric applications and services by working at a conceptual level and focusing on business logic rather than data access.

· With the Beta 3 release of the ADO.NET Entity Framework, Microsoft is taking a critical step in delivering on our commitment to provide a platform for developers to use LINQ against any back end database.

· The ADO.NET Entity Framework will enable developers to develop rich applications on top of any data source including SQL Server, IBM and MySQL and many others, meeting developers’ needs for a provider-agnostic approach to data.
