Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 04/06 – Resolved

Application Insights experienced data access issues for around 25 minutes. We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 04/06, 02:10 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 04/06, 01:45 UTC and during the 25 minutes that it took to resolve the issue, around 5% of customers would have experienced data access issue. The following data types were affected: Availability,Customer Event,Dependency,Exception,Metric,Page Load,Page View,Performance Counter,Request,Trace.

  • Root Cause: The failure was due to availability issues in one of our back-end services in EastUS region.
  • Incident Timeline: 25 minutes - 04/06, 01:45 UTC  through 04/06, 02:10 UTC
