Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 05/16 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 05/16, 04:25 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 05/16, 04:05 UTC and that during the 20 minutes that it took to resolve the issue approximately 12% of customers experienced errors loading Application Insights data in Azure and App Analytics portals.
  • Root Cause: Full RCA is still in progress, but preliminary RCA is pointing to issues in one of our backend services, which is responsible for data retrieval.
