Experiencing Data Latency for Metric Data Type - 05/04 - Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 05/04, 17:10 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 05/04, 09:00 UTC and that during the 8 hours that it took to resolve the issue 5% of customers experienced incomplete data on Server Overview blade in Azure portal.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to insufficient scale configuration for one of the backend services.
  • Lessons Learned: Multiple improvements will be implemented, including monitoring changes, to avoid such issues in the future.
  • Incident Timeline:  8 Hours & 10 minutes - 05/04, 09:00 UTC through 05/04, 17:10 UTC.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We continue to investigate issues within Application Insights. Root cause is not fully understood at this time. experience Data Latency in Europe region. Around 5% of Customers may experience incomplete data at Server overview blade on the Azure portal. We are working to establish the start time for the issue, initial findings indicate that the problem began at 05/04 10:00 UTC. We currently have no estimate for resolution.
