[Informational]-Experiencing Alerting failure for Availability Data Type from Stockholm location – 03/05 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 03/06, 10:27 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 03/05 20:00 UTC and that during the 14 and a half hours that it took to resolve the issue some of customers who have configured their web tests in the Stockholm location would have seen alerting failures. Customers having their web tests in other locations have not been impacted.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to the network issues on the servers hosted in the Stockholm location.
  • Incident Timeline: 14 Hours & 25 minutes - 03/05 20:00 UTC through 03/06, 10:25 UTC

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We are trying to work with our remote site recovery team in mitigating the issue with the network devices. Some customers who have configured their web tests in Stockholm location will continue to experience Alerting failures. All other locations are unaffected. The following data types are affected: Availability. Initial findings indicate that the problem began at 03/05 20:00 UTC. We will keep you posted as soon as we have an update

We continue to investigate issues within Application Insights. Root cause is isolated to a power outage. Some customers who have configured their web tests in Stockholm location will continue to experience Alerting failures . All other locations are unaffected. The following data types are affected: Availability. Initial findings indicate that the problem began at 03/05 20:00 UTC. We currently have no estimate for resolution.
  • Work Around: There is no work-around for the web-tests configured from affected location ,But availability should be considered based on web-tests results from other configured locations except Stockholm.
