Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Availability Data Type – 02/21 – Resolved

We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 02/22, 04:50 AM UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 02/17, 07:30 PM UTC and that during the 105 hours 20 minutes that it took to resolve the issue customers would have experienced data access issues while loading availability web test results for failed web tests in Azure Portal.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue in one of the dependent services.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

Root cause has been isolated to configuration change in the system that is impacting loading of Availability web test results in Azure Portal. To address this issue we have issued a hotfix.
