Experiencing Data Gaps for Multiple Data Types - 01/20 - Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 1/20, 21:30 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 1/17, 23:15 UTC and that during the 70 hours and 15 minutes that it took to resolve the issue very few customers with Enterprise apps created after November 2016 experienced failures while raising their daily billing caps.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to a recent change in one of our back-end services.

Root cause has been isolated to a recent update to one of our back-end services which impacted raising of the daily billing cap. We are actively working on resolving the issue. Less than 1% customers, with Enterprise apps created after November 2016, should experience the failures.

  • Work Around: Customers with Enterprise apps can change them to Basic, and then raise the daily billing cap from the portal.

We are aware of the issues within Application Insights and are actively investigating. Some customers, with Enterprise apps created after November 2016, will experience failures when trying to raise their daily billing cap from the portal. The following data types are affected: Customer Event, Dependency,Exception,Metric,Page Load,Page View, Performance Counter, Request, Trace data types

  • Work Around: Customers with Enterprise apps can change them to Basic, and then raise the daily billing cap from the portal.
