Experiencing Data Access Issue for Metrics Monitoring of Resources in Azure Portal – 11/04 – Resolved

This is a retrospective notification. After revisiting the customer impact metrics from today morning, we identified that a bad deployment had caused a data access issue for the Metrics monitoring provided for Azure Resources in Ibiza through Application Insights. We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 11/4,20:00 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 11/4, 17:00 UTC and that during the 3 hours that it took to resolve the issue, users accessing the metrics monitoring feature in the Azure Portal would have experienced data access issues.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to a bug with one of endpoint deployments.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.
