Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 10/28 – Resolved

We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 10/28, 09:20 AM UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 10/28, 07:40 AM UTC and that during the 1 hour and 40 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some customers might have experienced data access issues while accessing their resources through azure portal.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue in one of our dependent platform services..
  • Lessons Learned: We have collected required telemetry data during the impact period which we will utilize to avoid such re-occurrences in future
  • Incident Timeline: 1 hour 40 minutes – 10/28, 07:40 AM UTC through 10/28, 09:20 AM UTC

We are aware of issues within Application Insights and are actively investigating. Some customers may experience Data Access Issue in Azure Portal. The following data types are affected: Customer Event,Dependency,Exception,Metric,Page Load,Page View,Performance Counter,Request,Trace.
