Experiencing Latency and Data Loss for Many Data Types – 09/10 – Resolved

This is a retroactive notification. After analyzing the availability data for the day, it was observed that, Application Insights customers ingesting data through the West Europe ingestion region would have seen increased failure rates during the day. We have confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 9/9, 22:00 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 9/9, 17:30 UTC and that during the 5 hours that it took to resolve the issue a small subset of our customers would have seen increased failures while ingesting data through the West Europe ingestion endpoint.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to residual impact from a bigger platform issue which happened earlier in the day.
