Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 08/29 – Resolved

We have determined there is a small residual issue which may cause some customers to see a message of "Error retrieving data" when accessing Application Insights data in the Microsoft Azure portal.  Refreshing your session may show the data properly as a workaround.

We understand what is causing this residual impact and are working through mitigating the final few errors.

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of  08/29, 19:16 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 2016/08/29 17:31 UTC and that during the incident nearly 30% of customers search query failed.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to recent deployment  which overwritten Key information.  we have restored the correct keys values to mitigate the issue.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We are aware of issues within Application Insights and are actively investigating. Some customers may experience Data Access Issue in Azure and AppAnalytics Portal. Customers using  API key may experience Search query failures at the moment.
