Experiencing Power BI reports accessing issues – 08/21 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 8/21, 14:40 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 8/21, 11:00 UTC and that during the 3 hours and 40 minutes that it took to resolve the issue customers would have been unable to refresh their existing PowerBI dashboards, or create new PowerBI dashboards using App Analytics.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue within a back end service.
  • Lessons Learned: We have collected logs that we will use to further diagnose the issue and work on improvements that will reduce incidents like this in the future.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We are aware of issues within Application Insights and are actively investigating. Customers will not be able to create new PowerBI dashboards. Also, customers will not be able to access the existing PowerBI dashboards.
