Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 08/17 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 8/17, 13:40 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 8/17, 12:40 UTC and that during the 1 hour that it took to resolve the issue some customers would have been unable to access their data in Application Insights.
  • Root Cause:The failure was due to an issue within a back end service .
  • Lessons Learned: We have collected logs that we will use to further diagnose the issue and work on improvements that will reduce incidents like this in the future.
