Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Overview blade – 08/05 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 08/5, 03:50 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 08/5, 03:00 UTC and that during the 50 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some customers might have experienced issues in accessing metric data while using the overview blade in Azure Portal. 
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to one of our Application Insights back end system was unable to process the metric data .
  • Lessons Learned: We have collected the required telemetry logs required for improving our systems.
  • Incident Timeline: 50 minutes - 08/5, 03:00 UTC through 08/5, 03:50 UTC

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.
