Experiencing Data Gaps for Live Metrics – 08/03 (second occurrence) – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 08/03, 06:15 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 08/02, 23:00 UTC and that during the 7 hours 15 mins that it took to resolve the issue small percentage of customers who used Live Metric Stream feature, wouldn’t be able to see their live metric stream data in Azure portal. This issue was the re-occurrence of issue which happened earlier during the day in impacted window 08/02 22:38 UTC to 08/02 22:49 UTC which lasted for 11 minutes. 
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to performance degradation in one of the back end dependent service. We have scaled out impacted component to mitigate the current impact.
  • Lessons Learned: We are working on improving our alerting mechanism to expedite the detection and resolution of such issues.
