Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 06/09 – Resolved

We have detected a recurrence of this same issue with our back end infrastructure that caused a very minor group of query failures.  We understand the issue is caused by a problem with a specific portion of our infrastructure and we have updated our back end routing configuration to direct queries around this problematic infrastructure.

Users with long-lived browser sessions may see occasional errors in the browser.  If this occurs, please refresh your browser.  This will cause your session to take advantage of the updated routing.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 06/09 14:30 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 06/09 13:20 UTC and that during the 1 hour and 10 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some customers experienced failures in querying the Application Analytics.

Some customers may experience failures in querying the Application Analytics starting from 06/09 13:20 UTC. We see intermittent issues in one of our back-end services causing failures at Application analytics. We are evaluating the impact with Azure Portal users as well as we are investigating this incident  The following data types are affected: Customer Event,Dependency,Exception,Metric,Page Load,Page View,Performance Counter,Request,Trace.
