Experiencing Data Latency for Many Data Types – 05/26 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 5/26, 20:45 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 5/26, 12:35 UTC and that during the 8 hours that it took to resolve the issue customers experienced latency of data outside of the 2 hour SLA.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue with an backend service.
  • Lessons Learned: We have collected diagnostics and are continuing to harden our system in order to minimize these types of issues in the future

Root cause has been isolated to an issue with a backed service which was impacting data latency of multiple data types. To address this issue we have rebooted the service as well as collected diagnostic data to help us learn from this issue. Data that is currently being sent is no longer latent. Some customers may experience latency of data that was sent during the affected times and we estimate 6 before all latency is addressed.

We are aware of issues within Application Insights and are actively investigating. Some customers may experience Data Latency. The following data types are affected: Customer Event,Dependency,Exception,Metric,Page Load,Page View,Performance Counter,Request,Trace.
