Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 04/08 – Resolved

We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 04/08, 17:10 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 04/08, 16:45 UTC and that during the 25 minutes that it took to resolve the issue 5% of customers experienced failures loading Application Insights parts in Azure portal.
  • Root Cause: Backend system running close to it’s capacity.
  • Lessons Learned: Temporary mitigation was applied. Permanent mitigation is planned either for today or Monday.

We are aware of issues within Application Insights and are actively investigating. Some customers may experience Data Access Issue in Azure Portal. The following data types are affected: Customer Event,Dependency,Exception,Metric,Page Load,Page View,Performance Counter,Request,Trace.
