Experiencing Alerting failure for Exception – 02/24 – Resolved

We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 2/24/2016, 02:45 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 2/16/2016 23:00 UTC. During this incident timeframe, exception based alerts would not have resolved and remained in an error state.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to software bug, which prevented the alerts from resolving as expected.
  • Lessons Learned: Engineers have identified the root cause of the bug and are reviewing telemetry to prevent this issue from reoccurring.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.
