Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Multiple Functional Areas – 02/20 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 02/20, 09:25 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 02/20, 07:15 UTC and that during the 2 hours 10 minutes that it took to resolve the issue 10% of customers experienced data access problems for multiple data types.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to configuration issue in Application Insights query service which once updated mitigated the issue.
  • Lessons Learned: We have collected required telemetry and will be working on the same to avoid such issues in future.
